Do you have addiction of fast food? Most of us do. The food we eat works as a fuel for our body and it is necessary to take nutritious diet for a healthy life. Fast foods are packed with carbohydrates, unhealthy fats, sugar and salt. All these components are filled with calories but often lack in nutrition.

Breakdown of carbohydrates into sugar is done in our body, which finally mixes in our bloodstream. Insulin is then released by our pancreas and thus sugar is transported to various cells present in human body. After absorption of sugar, level of blood sugar decreases. This causes pancreas to release one more hormone known as glucagon. This hormone orders liver to use stored sugar. This complete cycle is normal and is imperative for proper functioning of the body. Eating too much of junk food disturbs the response of insulin by increasing the amount of sugar level in the body.
Adverse effects of fast food on the body

Increases Obesity: Obesity is a leading problem for most of us and one of the major reasons for this is junk food. This problem is caused because of high intake of calorie and sugar rich food. Fast food includes high amount of calories and sugar, hence even a small amount of its intake will lead to weight gain. These junk food replaces nutritious diet. If you are in a habit of eating large quantity of fast food, your possibility of eating fruits, vegetables and other nutritious diet will be less. Obesity may lead to asthma, sleeping issues, shortness of breath etc.

Diabetes: Fast food is the easiest and quickest way to satisfy hunger is this fast and busy world. Apart from obesity, these foods lead to diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a common disease among those, who include more sugary, salty and unhealthy fats in their diet. These ingredients can cause permanent adverse effect on blood sugar level. Diabetes patient needs proper medications for controlling imbalances caused by these fast foods. Diabetes can also lead to glaucoma, blood pressure, kidney problems or even heart attack.

Heart Disease: We love to eat foods which are good in taste, color and odor. Most of the junk foods include trans food, which are man-made fats and are harmful for health. This man-made fat reduces the level of good cholesterol and increases bad cholesterol in the body. Choosing these unhealthy foods accelerate the risk of stroke and other heart diseases.

Stress: Fat rich foods cause obesity, heart attack, diabetes and also stress. A study has shown that intake of large amount of fatty foods enhances stress level. These foods work as a strong catalyst for accelerating stress in the body. Such diet includes preservatives, artificial flavors, thickeners etc which is the root cause of many hazardous diseases.

Keep in mind that such junk foods contain zero nutrients. Eating them very rarely is the best way to avoid health issue and living a disease free life.
